Since we established in 2004, we have helped thousands make a claim for flight delays and cancellations
You can make a claim if you have had a flight in the last 6 years that has been:
» Delayed - if your actual arrival time is a minimum of 3 hours after your scheduled arrival time due to a fault of the airline that you used, you could be entitled to make a flight delay claim
» Cancelled - If you have booked a flight, but been told less than 48 hours before your flight that it has been cancelled due to a fault of the airline then you are eligible to claim flight cancellation compensation
» Rerouted - There are two types of reroute flights you could possibly claim compensation for. To claim for a rerouted flight, the same rules apply as the rest of the sectors. It must be within the last 6 years, you must be on an EU Regulated flight or airline and it must not be anything to do with an extraordinary circumstance. Also, you can only claim if the re-routing has delayed you arriving at your original location by 3 hours or longer
» Denied Boarding - You can claim for compensation if you have been denied boarding due to the airline overbooking, under booking or any other ways of them making an error
Here at Flight Delay Expert, we pride ourselves on helping people process claim for delayed flight. We can get a claim processed if your flight has been delayed, cancelled, rerouted or even if they've denied you boarding!
Checking if you are eligible for Delayed Flight Compensation only takes a couple of moments and we take no personal data, all we need to check is the date of your delay, and the places you were departing and arriving at. You will also need your flight number and booking reference number in order for us to process your flight delay compensation claim.
If you were travelling with other people, let's say there were you and 5 others, then you would only need to put in 1 flight delay claim and the other 5 people would get their claim processed too!
If your flight has been delayed for 3+ hours then your airline has a duty of care towards you.
Some airlines offer a "welfare package", for flight delays over 3 hours, which consists of food, drinks, 2 phone calls, and if your flight delay is overnight then accommodation, food at the accommodation and transport to and from the accommodation must be provided. This is not classed as compensation from the airline, no matter how much the vouchers are (usually just enough to feed one person) so if you have had any flight delays and received one of these packages then please do get in contact!
A study has proved that over 75% of people that try to claim for their flight delays through the airlines themselves are unsuccessful even though they are eligible to claim. The biggest reasons for this are the fact that the airlines will ignore your letters, so you give up hope of any flight delay compensation, the airline will say that your claim in invalid even though you are 100% eligible to claim, and the airlines biggest excuse is flight delays were due to 'extraordinary circumstances' such as bad weather or a strike.
If you attempt to claim compensation for your flight delays yourselves through the airline, and they use this excuse, then it means that you will need to somehow find evidence (which is a very tiring and laborious road) of why the flight was delayed and proving that it wasn't because of extraordinary reasons. Even if you are successful in finding this evidence, the majority of the time your flight delay claim will then go to a small claims court and will end up being a battle for your compensation. By this time, you will have spent most of any flight delay compensation you would have been entitled to and there would have been no point going down this road what so ever.
Even if you are successful in your flight delay claim, the airline hardly ever pays out the full amount of compensation that you are owed.
They normally offer a written apology, a small voucher which is normally for food and drink, a discount on your next flight, or if you are lucky then a less than 50% of the flight delay compensation that you are actually owed.
By the end of reading this, are you sure that claiming flight delay compensation yourself is actually worth it?
Here at Flight Delay Expert, we can get you more flight delay compensation than what the airline is offering, and you won't be spending it all just to find the actual reason for the delay.
